Position of Assistant Professor in Mathematics at University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM)

The University of Toronto Mississauga is looking for an Assistant Professor (Mathematics) which is going to start the job on July 1, 2021, or shortly later.

Introduction to Opportunity: The Department of Mathematical and Computational Sciences at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) invites applications for a full-time tenure stream appointment in Mathematics. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, and will commence on July 1, 2021, or shortly thereafter.

Education & Experience Required: Applicants must have a PhD degree in Mathematics or a related area by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter, with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. Candidates in all areas of Mathematics will be considered.

We seek exceptional candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our existing departmental strengths (see our websites at http://www.utm.utoronto.ca/math-cs-stats/ and http://www.math.toronto.edu/). The successful candidate will be expected to pursue innovative and independent research at the highest international level and establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program. The successful candidate will be a member of the tri-campus graduate Department of Mathematics at the University of Toronto.

Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence as can be demonstrated by a record of publications in top-ranked Mathematics journals or forthcoming publications meeting high international standards, the submitted research statement, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and strong endorsements from referees of high standing.

Salary & Facilities Offered: Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
