Postdoctoral Research Fellowships

Postdoctoral Research Fellowships at Trinity Western University – October 2020

The School of Nursing at Trinity Western University is accepting applications for a postdoctoral fellow to join our Implementation of Patient-Centered Measurement (PCM)/Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) Project team at TWU.

The study goal is to create guidelines to support healthcare providers to implement PCM, specifically (1) Conduct a comprehensive systematic review of a wide range of evidence (qualitative, quantitative, grey literature, unpublished research), (2) Understand the mechanisms by which providers in the “real-world” successfully integrate PCM data into their daily workflow, and (3) Develop evidence-based guidelines on how to interpret and “act on” PCM data for use that are applicable to providers and decision-makers supporting clinical practice. This project is currently funded through the BC Support Unit (Patient-Orientated Research), Patient-Centered Measurement Cluster. The research team is committed to advancing the voice of patients and healthcare providers as end-users of PCM.

The position is available to a PhD trained individual with a desire to gain experience in managing the large, multi-phased study, with an integrated knowledge translation focus. The post-doctoral fellow (PDF) provides an opportunity to expand your knowledge and skills, build collaborations, and publish. The PDF will be a key research team member, with extensive independent work and responsibility within the project.

Dr. Angela Wolff, Principal Investigator of the study, will assist the PDF in designing and implementing his/her own customized professional development plan.

Our research team is committed to research capacity building to further the PDF’s career and research portfolio, and an opportunity for peer-reviewed publication outputs.

Working directly with Dr. Angela Wolff, this is an opportunity for a highly motivated, self-driven, and engaged candidate with experience and interest in a mixed-method systematic review, qualitative interviews, and stakeholder engagement as well as writing peer-reviewed publications. There will also be opportunities as lead first-authored papers related to the study findings or methods used. If additional funding is obtained, the PDF will also develop and pursue research compatible with the goals of the PCM Project.
