The Impact of Women’s Employment on Their Lives

Women’s employment has a significant impact on their lives and society. In developed countries, women have greatly increased their participation in the economy and businesses.

Only 10 percent of the income and less than 1 percent of the assets in the world belong to women, while women make up half of the world’s population.  In fact, women are less involved in businesses than men, which is due to fewer job opportunities for women and more lucrative jobs for men. On the other hand, most women who work in the same job position with men, receive lower wages than men.

Women are a huge workforce in the world. If the require conditions for their employment and economical activities are provided, they show their abilities and as a result, they can be effective in family income and play a significant role in the development of the country. There is a misconception in the world that the existence of women is not as effective in businesses as men, as a result of which the vast and talented workforce is not very participate in social and economic activities.

Fortunately, rising level of women’s education in recent years has led to an increase in women’s employment rate.

Women’s employment has some advantages as follows:

1. self-support

Most women are reluctant to ask their husbands for money to meet their financial goals. They want to provide some necessities  for themselves as part of the family. Self- support is important for most women and makes them financially independent on their husbands and families and even help other member of family financially. This is very remarkable especially for women who are heads of households.

2. Discovering Talents and Abilities

By working, women can discover their talents and abilities, and subsequently grow these talents and abilities and pay more attention to their personal development.

3. More Welfare

In a family where both spouses work and have an income, there is certainly more welfare in that family, and there is not much pressure on the man of the family to meet the whole expenses of life.

4. Energy Expenditure 

To maintain the body’s physiological balance, we need to somehow drain our daily energy, working can be a good way to expend energy.

5. Economic Development of the Country

When a woman starts working, she becomes a part of the society and plays a role in the economic development of the country by producing, buying and selling products or providing services.

6. Boosting Social Support in Business

Working creates many new relationships, and every woman wants to form good friendships and enjoy social support in addition to these relationships.

However, working for women has disadvantages as well, such as fatigue from work, as a result they are not able to do housework, and more importantly, caring for and raising children, which is the critical task of women.

In general, with the development and expansion of societies and the rising level of women’s knowledge provide a special place in society for them. Women do not need men as in the past and have achieved independence. Many women have proper jobs and high incomes, also in many families, it is women who have responsibility to support the family economy.
